Mathiston Happenings....Webster County Development Council

Lot's happening in Mathiston these days. A portion of the Wood campus property is being prepared for marketing as a business location. 1 parcel along Highway 82 was purchased and available for a new business to locate. Work on damaged property resulting from the tornado back in April is continuing. Expansion at Sly is continuing and will result in at least 33 jobs over the next 3 years.

Eupora Happenings....Webster County Development Council

Lot's happening in Eupora these days. Two parcels of property have been purchased to construct buildings that will house 2 new businesses. 1 parcel of property has been purchased and being remodeled to house 1 business and create space for 2 additional businesses. 1 vacant building being remodeled to house a new business that will be opening soon.

For years Walthall Volunteer Fire Department has organized this event. It always brings a large crowd of candidates, their families, and people of the community to find out who their next elected officials will be. This is always a fun time but nervous time so come out and check it all out!

On Saturday, July 30th from 8 until 4 a table will be set up in front of Tally's Tobacco Shed so interested individuals can sign the petition so the issue of whether beer should be legal in Webster County or not.

Proactive for Webster County

The petition drive has been going on for 3 weeks now and we currently have approximately 600 signatures of registered voters in Webster County. We need 1500 signatures so the issue can be voted on in November. Help give the voters an opportunity for their voice to be heard whether for or against by helping get it on a ballot.
